What a night! Phil Kelly rocks!

Last night at the South Coast club in Waterlooville was an absolute cracker. Special guest Phil Kelly (and his two sons) was on sparkling form and I, amongst others, were seriously considering setting fire to our stuff as we watched him play.

Of course, everyone wanted to talk to him and get what lowdown they could on their particular interests (strings, amps, echo etc) and to Phil's enduring credit, he found time for everybody. An absolutely great bloke with no side and nothing 'big time' about him. His presence inspired the house band The Shadders to even greater heights and their backing of Phil was top notch.

A wonderful evening - and some wonderful guitar work - thank you so much Phil. It was great to see you and your boys. Let's hope it's not too long before we do it again. Maybe one day we can even get you along to our club in Surrey.

Fantastic. Well done to Derek and Ken club for pulling off this coup. Brilliant night.

John, you have summed up last night's club meeting perfectly !!!

As alway it was wonderful for me to see & watch Phil play, & I consider myself very lucky to have had the priviledge of knowing Phil & his family for the best part of 20 years, so I was 100% certain that Phil's phenomenol playing of Non-Shads numbers would cause some serious 'jaw-dropping' by those who were witnessing it for the first time...... added to that was the obvious enjoyment that Geffers & The Shadders displayed by their beaming smiles when backing Phil on the Shads numbers.
A fantastic evening, my thanks to those who made it possible, & to Phil, Michael & James who made the long journey in torrential rain to give the SCSC members & visitors a memorable evening's entertainment. Here's to the next time

Yes, it was a great night and nice to hear Phil playing some non Shadows numbers as well. The pub was packed out and we all had a great evening. Thanks Phil and thanks to Derek for getting this evening together and to Geoff and the guys for running the evening programme. Excellent as usual.

Hi all! Just had to add my thoughts on last Wednesday ~ one word covers it, WOW! Fabulous that Phil and sons travelled in awful weather to be with us and I so enjoyed Phil's wonderful playing! Please come back again anytime, Phil.
