Out of interest was the amp miked up or is there a DI?

It was miked - the only output is for an extension cab

Did you put the Mike down the centre or to the side? :)

Interesting ... I miked this further back than I do normally (dunno why ... trying to capture the fullness of the sound I think) the mic was about 6" (honest ;) )from the cab, just to left of centre and just below mid point -have not moved mic stand or amp since recording . Following taken from camera phone 5 mins ago

An impressive looking and sounding amp.

You tried an interesting mic placement for the recordings - I must give it a go. Incidentally what is the mic you're using?

Thanks Mark, may I recommend that you try the mike a little more off centre , at the edge of the speaker - you may lose the fierceness (is that a real word ? ) of the treble. :idea:

You can use the Extension Speaker socket as a DI output provided that

a) The Extension Speaker socket is in parallel with the loudspeaker (not series) (but parallel is normal).

b You connect using a DI box with a transformer which isolates input from output. (this is also normal)
