Thanks, JN....don't have any direct experience with the '59 model BUT Bob Shade is a real prince of a guy and stands behind his products 100%.

Here's a young Japanese lead guitarist who (unfortunately for me) is much better than I am (and certainly when she gets to my age). Sent to be by a Japanese friend, a big Ventures fan.

Great photos. I bought a black Chinese Squier Strat (JimN's fave colour...) many years ago and tarted it up with a pearloid scratchplate after seeing a couple of shots of Gerry McGee's Ventures Strat, but I hadn't seen such detail before. Nice.

There was somebody on the old MSN Shadowmusic Group that owned one of those Ventures models, identity escapes me at the moment! I agree that they are a good looking Strat -made in Japan I believe. ;)
