The concert in Oslo, Norway 23.08.1961 was at Njårdhallen! I also spoke with a friend who was there, and he was on both shows in Oslo. 2 shows in one night

Best regards
Rune

Hi Rune,
thanks for the info about the Oslo concert(s).
Regarding See You In My Drums, it was listed under this name in the papers but I presume that it will have been a BB version of it.
Best wishes,
Ulrich

Hi Clive,
I knew that the Remo Four were playing that day at The Cavern, but as there were two sets that day (lunch time and evening) and as I was not sure in which the Remo Four played I had them not listed. However, your reply gave me the reason to try to find out:They played on both sets, so I will add them with the next update.
Best wishes,

I can only guess because I wasn't there, but I would expect BB's version of See You in My Drums to have been pretty similar to TM's. I read him say (somewhere) that he started off playing Tony's parts and only personalised them after some time had passed.

The Remo Four combo makes their debut at the Cavern Club (20.6.1960) on this date. The band's basic musical origin came from skiffle, but later they patterned their musical style around the instrumental hits of the Shadows and the Ventures. Their two singles on the Piccadilly label were: "Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate" (1964); "Sally Go Round The Roses" (1964).
The Shadows
"We appeared with the Shadows during their only Cavern appearance, first playing the lunchtime session. I felt eyes watching me from the dressing room and when I turned round Tony Meehan, Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch were all in the little hole watching us and we were playing a Shadows number. I shouted to the rest of the lads, 'Look who's watching us!'
"In the evening we were also on with the Shadows. When Jet Harris came in he was absolutely gone. Someone said he'd been on the sherbet, but he was drunk, there was no doubt about it. Hank Marvin agreed that the Remo Four were better than the Shadows that night. He said, "We had a bass player that fell off the stage, so there were only three of us playing.' But he admitted we were the better group which, coming from Hank Marvin, was really nice for us..

Patsy made some good records under Norrie Paramor, particularly the catchy Accidents Will Happen 45 single
Judy Cannon made one 45 under Joe Meek production in 1965

Hi Ulrich

Just an update for you on the week in Leeds in May 1962.

They definitely did Perfidia, The Frightened City and Hank and Bruce sang The Young Ones and Do You Wanna Dance. Licorice also played Harmonica on Stranger on the Shore

Hi Stu,
Many thanks for the additions, but I am not sure about May, 1962. I presume you mean July?

Quite interesting to see that The Shadows played "Peter Gunn Theme" already in 1962. They also played it years later during the Autumn 1981 tour, probably because of the 1980 film "The Blues Brothers". Another interesting live track is "Are They All Like You?".

Hi Ulrich

Of course!!

But I think it went ahead on 25th June. That's what all the Old Leeds Websites say and I remember having a day of school on the Friday. It would have been the 29th June as, being a Catholic, we got the day off for the feast of St Peter and Paul. We went to Leeds and waited at the Queens Hotel until they came out!! Bruce was first!!

Regards
