Thanks Ulrich!

The 1961 Australian tour interests me, as though I wasn't living in Oz then (I emigrated with my family from UK in 1963) I will ask my Australian Shads fan friends if they went to the concert here in Adelaide in November 1961.

The big Palais Royal concert hall where they played was later pulled down for a new multi storey carpark!

I wonder if Cliff &Co at that time in Australia 1961, gave Patsy Ann Noble and Judy Cannon,
advice to try their luck in the U.K.?
Patsy made some good records under Norrie Paramor, particularly the catchy Accidents Will Happen 45 single
Judy Cannon made one 45 under Joe Meek production in 1965

I don't know about the lady vocalists, but Jet Harris told me in 2007 at Shadowmania, that Aussie rocker Col Joye took him out night-clubbing in Sydney when the Shads played there with Cliff (Col and his Joy Boys were a support act on the tour)

Of course, when the Shads toured Australia later in the '60's, that was when they came across John Farrar, who was in the Strangers.

I don't want to denigrate this because it's fantastic but Brian Bennett did not join or play with the Shadows until October 1st 1961

Hi Stuart,
Many thanks for your your thoroughly reading and commenting my fault. I was hoping for this kind of proof-read.
I fell into that copy 'n' paste trap. The details for the August to October season in Blackpool were showing the correct change, Tony Meehan until 29. September and Brian Bennett from 2. October onwards.
I have corrected the Word file.

It's interesting that Brian Bennett had to play See you in my drums on a concert!

The concert in Oslo, Norway 23.08.1961 was at Njårdhallen! I also spoke with a friend who was there, and he was on both shows in Oslo. 2 shows in one night

Best regards

As others have said, a fantastic read - I can't imagine how much research must have gone into this! Just one little thing...I always thought the Remo Four shared the bill with The Shadows at The Cavern the night Jet fell off the stage.

Thanks so much, Ulrich!!
