A further try to tempt you to now come along and enjoy a fabulous weekend at The Lakeside in only 2 weeks from today on 22nd/23rd September ! On the Lakeside Stage this year are featured five "Shadows" tribute bands now very enthusiastically waiting to entertain everyone from Norway, Sweden ,Finland ,France and the UK. These are a new UK act featuring Lee Restarick who will be bringing his own band of excellent musicians to Lakeside, topping the bill with a great set of numbers which will include some of The Shadows rarer instrumentals and vocals from the 70's and 80's which have rarely, if not ever been performed at a Shadows fans event before. We then have a third appearance from the Norwegian Band "Tasty" to enjoy once again. Tasty was formed 13 years ago as a Shadows cover band and have played on several large guitar festivals in many Countries. The band have released C.D.'s and DVD's plus writing their own tracks. They have twice played Lakeside and are due back this year due to many requests which Lakeside received to re-book them. The Beatmakers from Finland have received many awards in Finland and have produced many C.D.'s and tracks on difference compilations, plus making several TV appearances. The Band also have made a new C.D and DVD which includes also their own tribute to 'The Renegades' a 60's Band from B'ham, who had much success and several hits in Finland, in the early years. The fourth band featured from France are "Shotgun Ltd" - "Les Shadows sortent de l'Ombre" who are well known to several British people having now appeared at many events. The Band is currently making a new programme called "The Saga of the Shadows" which includes many of their numbers from 1960 upwards. Finally the 5th Band appearing once again this year for their 3rd appearance are "The Evening Shadows" who have proved popular over the years at these celebrations. I think that you will all agree that this year's six hours programme of entertainment is sounding very special, different and very good value for the ticket price alone to enjoy all of this fantastic music which all the fans so enjoy even after 59 years. Heard from Lakeside yesterday telling us that we can now announce the full line up for the 23rd September. Updated flyer on our web site. They have re-titled it "AN INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATION OF THE SHADOWS MUSIC" and if you check out the groups you will see why. Good all round selection.
