Hi can anybody tell me if the shadows EP's out of the shadows and out of the shadows no2 have ever been issued on the turquoise label, as i've only ever seen them on the blue /black labels many thanks for any info on this!

Hi Dave,

The stereo release of 'Out Of The Shadows' (ESG 7883) has been released and the turquoise label and was re-issued on the black-blue one. All other issues of Vol.1 (SEG 8218) and Vol.2 (SEG 8249 and ESG 7895) came out on the black-blue label.

Hi Dave,

Just a few minutes work. I have all the details in a database and only had to create a text document.
There are some more label differences like "Recording first published 196x" and "P 196x". Also the printing around the perimeter of the label in normal or capital letters only. As these differences were used during certain periods only it helps to identify an original or a re-issue. If you need more help don't hesitate to ask.

That's not quite correct.
The matrix number is given only once and that is for the master (7TCA1638 for the A-side of the Shads first mono EP SEG8061). From this master one or more stampers are made which are used for the pressing process of the record. In the run-out area of the record the matrix number is repeated with the addition of the stamper number. However, there were several stampers made at the same time and not necessarily all used in a chronological order.
I have the first EP on green label with a stamper code of 7TCA1638-1S which is also used with a blue-black label release.
