CD 1:

45. Wonderful Land. (Live 1978).
46. F.B.I. (Live 1978).
47. Apache/Shazam. (Live 1962).

52. Nivram. (Live 1962).
53. Little 'B'. (Live 1962).
54. F.B.I. (Live 1962).

The original 14-track 1975 UK album "Live At The Paris Olympia" has never been issued as such on CD before, so this would be a first. A nice bonus would be the two tracks from the 1975 concerts, which are yet still unreleased: "Black Eyes" and "Silvery Rain". Another great addition would be the complete 9-track set in stereo of the 1978 reunion concerts with Cliff Richard. The last eight tracks are of course those from the concerts with Cliff Richard in Kingston in March 1962.

Don't forget the mono single version of 'Trying To Forget The One You Love' which differs alot from the stereo version
the mono single version, left unissued at the time, of 'God Only Knows' which retains John Farrar's 1975 contributions but features new lead guitar by Hank and drumming from Brian Bennett and a fresh mix
also 'No No Nina' instrumental version,
and the full length version of 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina'

These have all been issued on CD before. The idea was to add mono tracks, which haven't yet been issued on an official CD release. The 'talking intro' demo version of "Maroc 7" has been issued on CD before, but that was a hybrid of the 'enhanced' mono talking intro and the original single version in true stereo. The 'talking intro' version, which appeared on the 1967 single-sided demo/promo single, was in 'flat' mono and the intro was interlaced with the music itself and has as such never been issued on CD before.

There are another 11 songs from the 1975 Paris Olympia concert which appeared on the Full Concert Version CD in 1992. The songs Black Eyes and Silvery Rain which 'featured' on the Magic Records CD were in fact the original studio takes and the spoken intros - missing from the Full Concert Version -seemed to have been taped from the audience and were virtually inaudible. (I can't find my copy - I think I might have got rid of it as it was a rip-off for anyone who already had the FCV CD and the Live in 1969 LP.)

I'm amazed The Early Years 1959-66 CD set got reissued - can't see EMI ever bothering with a follow-up, unfortunately.

isn't the title you stated above of your first suggested compilation

- the COMPLETE Studio Recordings 1967-1980 ?

then those missing studio tracks / alternate versions I mention need to be included too - yes ??

I meant 'complete' in the same sense as the earlier set "The Early Years (Expanded Edition) – Their Complete Studio Recordings 1959-1966": all studio tracks originally issued between January 1967 and July 1980 in stereo, but with the addition of (in this case) all remaining mono mixes of tracks from the 1960's which haven't so far been issued on official CD before. As an exception, I have listed seven other tracks, released between August 1992 and October 1997, but those are unique, so I thought I'd add those. Also, "Riders In The Sky" is featured twice here, because the album and single versions differ.
The mono single version of "Trying To Forget The One You Love" has been issued on the 2002 French CD "The Final 60's" (dubbed from vinyl disc) and for the first time from the original master tape in April 2004 on the EMI UK 4CD "Complete Singles As & Bs 1959-1980 – 21 Years At The Top". The 1974/1979 mono version of "God Only Knows", the instrumental version of "No No Nina" and the original full studio version of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" were first issued on CD in October 1997 on "The Shadows At Abbey Road". That's why I left them out of the listing.

It's just my personal thought of how such a compilation could look. There is always room for debate of course. ;)

You're right about that. I have all three versions of the concert: the original 14-track 1975 UK LP version, the 25-track 1992 UK CD version and the 27-track (with the 14-track 1969 Japanese LP "'Live' In Japan" included) 2002 French CD version. A new 27-track version of the entire show (or shows, because the album was compiled from concerts of the 12th, 13th and 14th of June, 1975), including all dialogue and the tracks "Black Eyes" and "Silvery Rain" would be great too.

So you leave out 'Trying To Forget...' (rarer mono single version) single alternate mono 'God Only Knows' and both 'No No Nina' (instrumental version) & 'Argentina' (full version) due to the fact that they have all already been issued on CD before....yes ?

yet you include 'Riders in The Sky' (both album and single versions) as they are so different ?

well the same criteria also applies equally to 'Riders' with regard to both versions also having had a previous CD release - the album version is on 'String of Hits' and single version is on ''Platinum Collection' and also on '50 Golden Greats'

so having already had a CD release would not appear to preclude some tracks from inclusion then

would it not make more sense to just include the rarer mono single version of 'Trying To Forget...' (which some won't know of and sounds rather more different overall to it's stereo version than the single and album versions of 'Riders' do), the instrumental 'No No Nina', mono alternate single version of 'God Only Knows' (with differing lead guitar & drum parts - thus also differing more than the two versions of 'Riders' do), and the full length 'Argentina' to then fully justify the sub title 'COMPLETE' Studio recordings ?

after all the sub title is 'Recordings' not 'Releases' isn't it ?

I would like to see a followup but looks unlikely.
Having said that i don't have any mono versions of the singles after 1964, i also don't have a mono copy (on CD) of 'From Hank, Bruce....etc'.
Also, was a digital version in mono of the Rythmn and Greens tracks ever released?

The tracks "Rhythm & Greens", "The Drum Number" and "The Lute Number" have been released in mono (and in stereo) on the 2004 UK EMI CD "More Hits!". "Ranka-Chank" and "Main Theme" in mono are still strangers to official CD.
