Great track, one of my favourites. I certainly haven’t seen this before.

Fine quality although the indent kind of got in the way a bit.
In stereo too!

It sounded like Hank's lead vocal was double tracked to my ears..or was it Abbey Road's ADT effect which the Beatles used a lot?

Pity it had to be mimed and wasn't played live...

I hate to say it, but I think Hank's fuzz solo on this great track is one of the poorest he ever played on a recording. He sounded like he was struggling to play a hip trendy fuzzbox contemporary 'wild' solo and failing...lighter gauge strings may have helped, but the bent notes always sound off-pitch to my ears..

I'm not sure ADT was used yet at Abbey Road, i'm pretty sure it wasn't installed until 1966 but i'm sure other people could correct me if i'm wrong.

A shame about that, but the timecode (which it covers up) would have been more distracting with its constantly changing numbers. This is one of the pieces that I know to exist in the BBC archives and it looks like someone borrowed a 'preview' or 'review' copy and, er, copied it.

The audiotrack is most certainly taken from a CD issue of "Don't Make My Baby Blue", dubbed on by the person who posted the video on YouTube, as the original soundtracks for 1960's TV footage were always mono.

Both the vocal parts seem to be double tracked and panned hard left and right, with all the instrumental tracks in the middle in mono. I just dug out my CD copy of More Hits, and it sounds identical to my ears - as does the one on Complete Singles As & Bs 1959-1980.

I don't have any other copies to compare - sorry!
