Hi Stuart,

Yep that's exactly right. I thought the "Sounds On Sunday" John Peel session was 1974 which would be too late for this release. So when was the session that included John Farrar (Jungle Jam etc.)? What show was that?

Forgive me for jumping in, but I believe the 'Sounds on Sunday' show was actually recorded in November 1973 - at about the time the album was released - but not broadcast until March '74. Something like that.

I believe this is the most exciting and dare I say 'important' Shadows CD release for a long time and something that I don't think any of us really believed we'd ever see. Or more importantly, hear!

Hi Chris,

Okay that makes sense. Although I would have thought the CD dates should refer to the transmission date rather than the recording date. Anyway 45 years after the session that's a minor quibble!

Just seen this post - and WOW!
BUT - why start at 1965? There's plenty of tracks in the vaults from before that date? Also, some of the tracks are BBC only such as Barney's Blues and Cervesa (or something like that!).
I'll be getting the preordered asap.

I think this release will be very very good. So far, apart from a few TV clips from 1965 with Cliff Richard, no live material has ever been released officially of The Shadows' line-up of Hank, Bruce, Brian and John. Also, the line-up on the five tracks from the 1973 sessions (broadcasted in 1974) is unique: Hank, Bruce, Brian, John (Farrar) and Mo Foster.

I would imaging any future releases may depend on how many this one sells
