This is a record review (allegedly by Dickie Attenborough) from the October 1962 edition of EMI's "Record Mail". That was the month that Love Me Do was issued.

The classic Bruce J 200 sound of that period, particularly on 'D' in Love, was sadly missed by me in the later years!

Just taking that in..Tony was 18 when he left the Shadows....astonishing.
I realised, on watching that BBC Buddy Holly documentary at the weekend, that Buddy Holly was 22 when he died.
Eddie Cochran was 21..

Indeed..which was why the Beatles were getting worried when they were still waiting for their big break ....John was the same age as Cliff - who was the top star by 1962.

This is the rarer issue of the two, although the mono version is quite rare too. I have recently acquired a very nice mint copy of the mono issue, but really would like to have a copy of the stereo issue as well.
