Current issue has Brian Locking in the 'Soundtrack of my life' feature.

Also tribute to Dick Dale and loads on Buddy Holly.

I gave up on this lot after spending quite a lot on collecting them over the last few years.
They constantly regurgitate the same old, same old and for me it has become boring, as this story about Licorice in particular, has done the rounds numerous times. It’s largely the pattern for all our old heroes, as there is nothing left to tell as it has been told tenfold. OK, some may not have heard it all so it’s maybe of use to those people.

This particular feature is two pages with Licorice talking about the recordings which influenced him (or in this instance, a couple he played on!)

It also means that Hank, Bruce, Brian and Licorice have all been featured in this way.

I don't normally buy VR unless there is an article which interests me, as I am not into rockabilly and some of the other topics covered.

Great six page interview with Brian in issue 89
of pipeline guitar instrumental magazine. It's from 2011, but great info on his life. If interested, you could
get it as a back issue.

I have been a Pipeline subscriber since issue 1 (and contributed since issue 11) and all of the Shadows have been featured over the years. You are right, that interview with Licorice is one of the best.

There's also an interview with Licorice in issue 50 of Pipeline.
