Celebration of the Music of The Shadows at Lakeside

Postby leosden » Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:59 pm

We have just received an update from Lakeside regarding the above event on the 27th/28th September - see below. Just a reminder that the groups playing will be Tasty from Norway, The Beatmakers from Finland, The Bootleg Shadows and The Evening Shadows...all well known to us We did give Lakeside a list of more groups and artists we knew would go down well with fans but were told it was already 'sorted'. We are hoping that next year Leos Den will be able to have much more of an input on this annual event, wherever it takes place.....!! Know there have been various comments on this event recently and they have been noted, especially by us. The update from Lakeside is about the Friday Evening social so if anyone is interested please follow through direct with either Keith Powell or Lakeside direct. It will only go ahead if enough people show interest. Lots of new releases to come by then, albeit mainly reissues, but we'll have them with us..........see quite a few of you there we hope.

===================================
We are pleased to announce that there will once again be the traditional Friday night get togther for those fans staying in the Lakeside International Hotel, The Continental Hotel or the Lakeside Lodges. With the sad loss of previous organiser Kathy Cresswell's husband Roy, it has fallen to us to organise the event to the best of our ability. We are dedicating the night and indeed the whole weekend to Roy Cresswell's memory and hope that you will support it as before.

The organiser is Keith Powell and you can reach him on 07434 627552.

As always the party will give the chance for the guitarists among us to get up and show us what they can do. There will be a PA system available on site plus a Hall and Collins Signature Echo Unit, volume pedal and 2 x vox AC30 amps. If you require any special equipment such as effect pedals, etc.then please bring your own. You must also supply your own backing tracks, either on MP3/Mini Disk or CD. Long before the party and certainly not later than the 31st August, you will need to supply us with your proposed set list which must be no longer than 15 minutes. Please list 6 possible tracks so that we can reach an agreement between potential players as to the final list used and thus not play the same tracks over and over. Please send your proposed list togther with your name and telephone number to sales@lakesidesurrey.co.uk marking it clearly for the attention of Keith Powell.

As the regular sound engineer for The Bootleg Shadows I will be doing the sound for the entire show this year. If all goes according to plan I will set up and take residence in the same place as Dave Winn of ESP used to for Shadowmania.

Please come and say hello during the show, I take milk and 2 sugars in my tea :-)
