The Tokaido Line is av very special song. Anyone out there with the story behind the melody?

From the ShadowsFile:
"The title refers to the Japanese high-speed train, the Tokaido Shinkansen. The original title was "Osaka Express", but changed by Brian Bennett after having seen the Tokaido signpostings at Tokyo railway station."

Superb playing from all four of them - especially John. I'd love to have heard them jamming around this time (late '67). I also like the similarly-arranged Holy Cow - also from the FHBBJ LP but The Tokaido Line renders it a bit redundant; a pity they couldn't have come up with something else even better! The amazing Gin-Iro-No-Michi or the irresistible Omoide No Nagisa, for example.
