The Local Heroes: New CD in the pipeline?

Postby Ramon » Sat Jan 23, 2010 9:14 pm

Hi all,

I heard recently that Barry Gibson along with the Local Heroes are planning a new CD. Does anyone here have additional information about this re: launch date, contents, etc.

If this is eventually confirmed, I am very much looking forward to it: their other album (One of our Shadows is missing) is one of my favourite CD's at home.

Cheers,
Ramon.

He did plan to do one some time ago titled 'sold down the river' ;) (I think), but maybe work has put the cd on the back burner. Another would be nice.

That's great, David. I hope it doesn't take too long before the album is on sale.

Cheers,
Ramon.

That's great news David - their first CD is a great favourite of mine - got both versions.

The See For Miles issue had a different running order and two additional tracks plus a couple of the original tracks remixed, which complements the original Burns' release.

The CD also had a special guest list that gave this recording some special ingredients! I wonder if there will be any special guests featured on the next album?

This is delightful news - I look forward to it. Do we know if it's the same line-up?

For fans of Local Heroes, perhaps I might be permitted to mention that they played the Pipeline Instrumental Convention in 1996 and 1998 and the DVDs are still available. On both occasions they played the theme from Local Hero which is on their CD of backing tracks but is not on either version of their CD.

The two additional tracks on the See For Miles release were "Equinoxe" and "My heart Will Go On (Titanic Theme)"

There is now also a Swedish release which has another additional 2 tracks on which are "Life Story" & "No More I Love You's"
