...and then there's the string squeak near the end (2:01) of Geronimo...and the (bass drum pedal?) squeak half way through (2:49) Slaughter....

Never noticed that before, but having had a listen, it now seems quite prominent 8-) .

So many of these minor 'sounds off' etc. Maybe it should be a separate topic - so as not to hijack the original "F City" theme. For example - at the end of the stereo mix of "T T F T O You Love", someone can be quite clearly heard clapping during the fade out. Brian Bennett admonishes the culprit with "Don't clap!". It can only really be discerned under headphones. :)

Well I never noticed that before!

Interestingly (!), on the original mono single (which is IMHO a superior mix; Brian's crashing drums are less obtrusive and there are several nice litle 'tremelo' licks from Hank which are higher up in the mix) I can hear the clap...but not Brian's "Don't clap".

What's that? I thought! Ah, Trying to Forget the One You Love - which I had certainly forgotten :)

My copy has no fade-out, it comes to a natural end, as songs should. I can hear a possible clap or two but no admonition from the Guv'nor.

Is there another version on the go with a fade and the features mentioned?

It can only really be heard on the stereo mix which appears on the "Everything Of Value - Rarities 2" CD.

Like Clive, I hear only a single clap during the fade of the final E major chord.

Presumably, it's Norrie featured on piano - or Hank?

Sorry lads, but is this topic getting a bit on the Anorak side of things!!!
Let us just enjoy the music as it was originally recorded at the time with
bells , whistles and even the odd duff note here and there.

I’m amused at the thought of removing the anorak element, Mike. Several prolific contributors here, self included, would have to shut up, probably permanently!

See you in Newcastle one of these days ...

Cheers - Iain

To quote a term in the thread heading: 'Experts'... or anoraks! - there's probably a very thin dividing line between the two. It's very much a lads thing and the spice of life for me as well. :)
