Happy Birthday to You at a Finnish ice-hockey match

Postby Twilight Ranger » Thu Sep 09, 2021 7:43 pm

I could hardly believe my ears when I was watching a Finnish ice-hockey match on TV tonight and I heard The Shadows play the first verse of Happy Birthday to You a few times during the breaks. One of the players must have had his birthday. Even so, none of the people responsible for the music was alive 60 years ago, and this recording certainly wasn't a chart topper in Finland, which makes me wonder how anyone knew about it. No complaints. I hope they'll play Shadoogie next.[i]
