Nice surprise! I shall be getting these... but, as with the last two, probably putting them away until Christmas! :D

what a great shame there isn't a DVD release. Wouldn't that be something?

That would be a miracle. The footage doesn’t exist!

That's true. For most of these recordings, the original footage doesn't exist anymore. I know that for the following tracks, footage does still exist: On volume 1, the tracks 1, 2, 3 and 13 and on volume 2, the tracks 6 (a snippet from a news broadcast), 9, 10, 11, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30.

I expect a third volume will be issued too some time in the near future. There is quite a batch of live TV (or recorded specifically for TV) material recorded between 1966 and 1968. Highlights much surely be the 12 track set recorded on June 18th, 1967 for a Japanese TV show, while The Shadows were on tour there and also the tracks "Cool Water" and "Chicago" (I think the correct title for this track is different, does anyone know what it is?). From 1970 onwards, the amount of true live TV material or again material pre-recorded for TV is much less. From 1975 onwards, the majority of TV appearances by The Shadows featured original studio recordings to which they mimed.

That’s right, Ivo. There’s a lot of footage out there, either in private hands or online. I don’t think official release would be possible for copyright reasons. Bruce used to get round this by showing a lot of it as “Shads on the Box” during the meal breaks at his Shadowmania events.

I think it was a great project that Bruce was working on in the mid 1990's, to get a video anthology released. It's just unfortunate that he didn't get the cooperation from other parties he needed to complete it.

I'm not totally clear which of those you mean, Ivo, but Fred Fisher's 1922 composition is correctly titled (in full): Chicago (That Toddlin' Town). See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_(That_Toddlin%27_Town)

The title Cool Water for Bob Nolan's 1936 composition is fully correct. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cool_Water_(song)

According to the Cliff Richard Song Database website, the song's title is "My Kind Of Town". I found the information here: http://www.cliffrichardsongs.com/crseries/. This could be wrong of course. ;)
