Cliff and The Shads... in a mainstream TV advert

Postby MeBHank » 10 Feb 2023, 00:35

I was supposed to be helping the Mrs in the kitchen a couple of days ago, and I got told off for stopping in my tracks... 'That's Cliff, isn't it?! And Jet!'

The new Levi's jeans advert features My Blue Heaven from the '21 Today' album...

Incredible...

One of the two best (and equally good) tracks on the "21 Today" album (yes, the other is Tea For Two).

Just great to hear this 62 year old recording in a TV advert of today. Incidentally, only part of the intro of "My Blue Heaven" is used and only Cliff, Jet and Tony can be heard. Hank and Bruce join in later on in the recording.
It just proves once again what a great rhythm section Jet and Tony were.

Also featuring understated piano played by Norrie, the track was included by Bernie Keith in this evening's Rock 'n' Roll Heaven show on BBC local radio.
