Shadows Guitar Club East Yorkshire Annual Gala 2023

Good day to you all,

The annual Shadows Music Gala will take place over the weekend of June 10/11th 2023.

The venue is Scarborough Rugby Club, Silver Royd, 569 Scalby Road, Scarborough YO13 0NL.

We will have a full programme of entertainment which includes six feature bands who will no doubt be playing many hits of ‘The Shadows’. Bands playing are ‘Jetstream’ ‘Rollback’ ‘The Fentone Four’ and ‘Shades Of Grey’.

Also playing will be ‘Down South’ who will be playing in memory of Roger Allcock who passed away recently. ‘Back Home’ a new band with some familiar faces will be making their debut at the show. Former ‘Legend’ members Martin Verrill and Terry Carter will be joined by Steve Longden and Nick Smith.

As usual there will be lots of time available for individual players to play to backing tracks or with a live band. Our club uses Mini-discs for backing tracks. I would suggest if you want to play to backing tracks you bring your own. We do have many tracks available but if you are playing an unusual number we may not have the track on mini-disc. The show starts at 11am Saturday and 10-30am Sunday and finishes 5pm both days.

As usual we have booked Walkers Fish Restaurant for the Saturday evening from 8pm.

The venue has plenty of free car parking and refreshments will be available both days along with full bar facilities.

Admission is £15 and will cover both days.

Well obviously not, but my brother in law is over here from Perth Australia for two weeks from last Friday and would have like to have seen a Shadow's club, as he seen Hank play many times in Freemantle and Magaret River. He has now made other arrangements, what a pity

Like said previously my brother in law is over here from Perth in Australia where sees Hank perform regularly, but has never been to Shadow's gala weekend, he has had limited availability but I thought I could take him to see this on Sunday, unfortunately Ian never replied

To John , Sorry but I have not been on the site as been so busy with grandchildren and brownies and school trips so I did not see the message. Of course you are able to pay on the door for any day. Ian does not go on the site and leaves it to me . Full time grandparent and volunteer in Peasholm Park as well as other things leaves me little time so I must have missed this message.
