For anyone who is interested please take a look at a new topic in the Marketplace forum about a friend who is selling his 2004 USA Gibson Les Paul Studio - (it's not Hank's  but it still warrants a "look-at" by anyone interested in Gibsons).

Any well made guitar .. full stop.... should not suffer tuning problems.
If there are problems then look elsewhere for the reasons than the the guitar.
My Cakeocaster ( made from Mighty Mite parts ) is equally as stable as any Gibson I've owned.
I'm sure that Hankies en masse will confirm that I ' over-indulge' the use of the trem and still I rarely have to tune the guitar.

I've got an Epiphone Les Paul and no tuning problems for mr either. Even when I've broken a string it stays in tune due to no tremelo arm.
