id like to know what was used on the japan concert. i read that john played 6 string on little bitty tear
and alan used johns jazz bass im i right about that ?

Which Japan Concert? Do you mean the one on the 'Live in Japan' LP? They've been there a few times with different lineups..........

I don't know what the Shadows (with Alan Hawkshaw but without Bruce) did in Japan in 1969, but they toured the same act the same year in the UK, and Alan Hawkshaw did not play bass guitar (that's a definite). He might, however, have played bass pedals on the (Lowrey?) organ he was using.
