'Borrowing' from The Shadows

Postby RayL » Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:31 am

Through their career, The Shadows used other people's tunes, but what about the use of their music by other composers?
Here's two examples that I've thought of.
In the coda of The Ramrod's (Ghost) Riders In The Sky, the guitarist uses Hank's Apache intro
In Anrew Lloyd Webber's Variations (written for his cellist brother Julian), the theme of FBI pops up towards the end.
Any more?

There's a Hindi song "Akele Hain To Kyu Gum Hai". One of the biggest selling Bollywood tunes apparently, written by a duo Anand & Miilind in 1988. I'll leave it to you to decide if there is any resemblance to the work of Bruce, Hank & Brian :x :

Yes indeed I remember this famous tune. "Return To The Kaiber Pass".
To know and have known the love of a little dog is a truly wonderful thing.
