FAREWELL SBJ'S RAY ENNIS

Postby RalphG » Tue Mar 02, 2010 3:32 am

The annual Solid Silver tour has just started and for those who like The Swinging Blue Jeans it might be worth getting to a venue near you to say farewell to the SBJ's last surviving original, lead singer and front man Ray Ennis.

Ray has decided age is catching up and that driving up and down the country to gigs is taking its toll.

The Swinging Blue Jeans include lead guitarist/vocalist Alan Lovell (watch out for some Marvinesque touches on "Don't Make Me Over") and Pete Oakman of The Bruvvers who wrote Joe Brown's number one "Picture of You".

That's a shame. Ray Ennis is still excellent. Hope he has a long and happy retirement.

I can highly recommend going to see them, saw them last year and they are superb, everything as to end sometime.
Take care
