The Shadowers announce "That Sound" concerts

Postby MeBHank » Wed Mar 03, 2010 8:46 am

Hi all...

I am overjoyed to announce that the show that the Shadowers have been planning for the last two years is ready to launch. In fact, tickets are already on sale! It is being advertised under the name of the "That Sound" tour. Our bassist is none other than Alan Jones. Brian "Licorice" Locking is our star guest and we may have further familiar faces join us on stage during these first two shows.

The debut performances are to be held at superb venues: The Exchange in Sturminster Newton, Dorset, and the Westland Conference & Leisure Complex in Yeovil, Somerset. Bruce Welch's Shadows appeared at Westland in 2000.
Details are as follows:

The Exchange, Sturminster Newton
Thursday 24th June 2010
Box office: (01258) 475 137

Westlands Conference & Leisure Complex, Yeovil
Friday 25th June 2010
Box Office: (01935) 848 380

Tickets are just £11.00.

These concerts will be heavily advertised in the areas local to the venues and a number of tickets have already been taken by people directly or indirectly involved with the project. I advise anyone interested to act fast as tickets are limited and are only available via the box offices of the venues. News of these concerts will be hitting the newspapers and radio stations in the near future.

Those who know me can probably tell how excited I am about this show. Apart from November's Children in Need event in Reading, I haven't performed on stage with a band for two and a half years! I hope we can rely on the support of the Shadows community to help make these first shows a success and help us pave the way for more theatre shows all around the UK. It'd be great to see as many familiar faces in the audience as possible.

More information on the band can be found on our website: http://www.theshadowers.com/

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask here or by emailing me on the address in my "signature" below.

I've attached a copy of our flyer (in .jpeg format, hence the slight loss of picture quality).

All the best...

Hi Justin,

Yes Justin all the best, you'll have to get a gig or two up these parts,
there's a couple of venues up here, but they'd probably be too small!

The NIA, NEC Arena!!

The Shadowers are one of the five bands at this year's Pipeline Convention - if you are within travelling distance of Bushey, why not come along on Easter Sunday?

Can you ever have too much choice for "That Sound"? I think not. Best of luck with the shows!

Amanda, the NEC and NIA have both wanted to book us but our required percentage of the box office split was too expensive for them! And I won't even start on the O2 arena saga! ;)

And Jim, I love the Lotus Cortina!

Thank you all for the kind comments. If anyone from the Shads community would be prepared to travel a long distance to come to either show I would consider a discount, but you'd have to contact me directly instead of the box office (call either phone number listed on the band's website).

Take care all...

Very best wishes for a great time on all your dates, I know you'll enjoy it as will your audiences - it looks like quite a few from the South West Shadows Club will be coming along - looking forward to it already!
