Yep, I agree with Jim - that's the position of the strap button on my Gibson J-185.

And that's not a camera effect in Al's eyes. They always look that red. :lol:

I checked my ES335 and the strap button is like the 'B' position about 1" in from the top so I assume its into the woodwork that the neck fits into and is supported by rather than the neck wood itself ... if needs be come and take a look :)
