The disappearing Licorice!

This must have been a set of snaps taken, one of which was used on the back of the Out of the Shadows LP cover

Iain

I think on the left picture was Brian Locking taken away. From his hand a pieces can still be seen.

It's just a bad example of how not to use the airbrush, nothing more. :|

Hello, Heinz,

Curious!

The second shot certainly seems to be a cropped clone of the first, with a less-than-perfect Photoshop technique employed to make the difference(s).

This was probably achieved by use of a clone-brush tool rather than an airbrush, but one is left wondering why it was done at all.

Was the "no Licorice" picture found at an EMI source?

Best wishes,

JN

I was certainly fooled by the air brushing!

Maybe in this latest one Brian L was photoshopped IN! :D

The clone-tool is very useful for digital manipulation. I recall that some months ago, someone posted a picture of Hank on the recent tour, marred by the inclusion in the pic of the back of the head of another audience member. I cleaned it up a bit with Photoshop...

Oddly, can't remember whose shot it was, otherwise I'd give the appropriate credit...

If the picture was retouched back in the sixties - it would have been done by painting out by hand on the negative - none of this modern nabby pamby photoshop - they got it too easy these days - now in my day ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
