My new VOX AC30CC2

Postby abel » Sun Apr 11, 2010 8:08 am

Hi all,

I want to share with you my excitement of getting my new VOX today.
As recommanded by Amanda and others, I left the Bypass on.
Any special setting for the early Shads sound?.
I am getting a pretty bright sound, and if I increase the CUT (Clockwise), it sound bassy.
How can I get a dry yet full sound?.
Also, I would like to know if someone can figure out the year by the Serial number in the picture?.
Hard to say how old is this amp, it looks in very good shape.
I' ll use it in Today's rehearsal.

Hi Abel,

I'm glad you're pleased with your AC30. I certainly am with mine.

I use mine with an ARIAB (bass cut ) box - a GEMINI III will do the same -through the 'top boost' channel with treble and bass settings at 1:00 o'clock and 11:00 o'clock respectively. However, your guitar and pickups will force you to adjust accordingly.

I bought my AC30 new here in the UK a few months ago and the serial No. is 017879 so yours cannot be a lot older.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Terry
