New posts / Old posts

Forgive if this has been covered previously. However, can I ask at what stage does a "new" post become and "old" post?

Is it based on the time it's been on the board? Is it the amount of posts that are there at any given time?

Is it done automatically or manually?

I tune in some days and there's a dozen or so posts after selecting the latest posts, whereas other days there are only two or three there.

I should stress that this does not detract from my pleasure in reading the aforementioned posts, but I would like to know.

Curious, Burntwood.
To know and have known the love of a little dog is a truly wonderful thing.

It's done automatically accordind to the latest post in a topic.

The way I understand it , it's relevent as to when the member who is viewing last visited. I hope that makes sense. :)
