Greetings to SMSE peeps...

As one might have expected from a look out of any window in Kent today, Spence and I have reluctantly decided to cancel the December Meet of SMSE.

For the Christmas "Do", we always hope to see friends from a wider-than-usual catchment area (hello, Essex!, hello Sussex!) and it just wouldn't be fair to expect anyone to risk their lives and property in the present weather, which, let's face it, was completely unforeseeable for November/December...

If you see this message (or the identical one in another part of the board), please post a response asap in order to let us know that you won't be coming. This evening, I'll go through the phone list of members in order to mop up.

Now the good news... er... weather permitting... we'll have the traditional totally free buffet at the January meet instead... weather permitting...

Yes message received, sorry the meetings off. It is unusual to get snow this time of year and it's fairly 'orrible round here in dartford.
Hopefully the DARTFORD meeting on DECEMBER 23rd will go ahead as planned (weather permitting of course).

Many thanks to those who have responded in this thread and the other similar one. I have also done a ring-round last night, though I can't hope to have reached everyone.

So... just bringing this back to the top in case any last minute SMSE-ers were thinking of making the trip tonight.
