Thank you to all who voted, as Clive indicated it is encouraging to see that there are many MWF fans amongst our members. Lady of the Morning is a clear and worthy winner -What an uplifting song that is, and what a great body of work the three of them put together in a short period of time. Even though they were largely ignored by the public at the time, their songs were critically acclaimed and received new attention when they were eventually first released on CD (thank you Colin Miles). Both Cliff and Olivia made great use of the material, of course, but the original tracks are unsurpassed.
As a teenager I can remember scrutinizing the Marvin & Farrar album in the HMV shop in Cheltenham. Nearly 30 years later I got to talk to Mo Foster and John Farrar about those days, which was a great thrill. Quotes from my interview with John were actually included in the sleevenotes for the recent BGO M&F re-release (used without my permission and without crediting me as the source, but that's another story). I know John has fond memories of those days and with the emergence of YouTube we can once again enjoy their television appearances during the early 1970's. It's been nearly 40 years since the first MWF album was released, but the music still sounds fantastic.
