Certainly hope Her Majesty enjoyed Flingel Bunt!!!
Wonder what Bob Newhart did? his sketch about the driving instructor is still a classic i.mh.o.

NME Article 1. May 1959

Cliff Richard breaks entirely new ground on May 9. when he makes his first appearance on BBC - TV - starring in the peak-hour Saturday evening variety presentation next week !
The occasion, which introducces Columbia's teenage sensation to a host of new viewers, to whom his many previous ITV appearances have not been accessible, is the BBC's 35th anniversary tribute to Henry Hall, "Here's To The Next Time"

SPAIN 1963

The Shadows with Cliff Richard flew to Barcelona for their series of Spanish recording session under a-n-r chief Norrie Paramor’s direction. NME 26.4.1963

Peter Gormley was their manager and mastermind behind their success. By the beginning of 1963 they had four years of huge success behind them, and arranged a wonderful surprise. Without telling the boys beforehand, he arranged to take of them – including Frank Ifield, whom he also managed – on holiday to Spain for three week. They went to Sitges where they occupied the whole hotel – although it was a small one! They had the most fabulous off-season holiday and during the last week they went into the studios in Barcelona to record. (Around The World In Picture With Dezo Hoffmann)

Cambridge Regal News Wednesday November 11 1959

Cliff Richard "Storm " at Regal Tuesday November 10 1959

Cliff's reputation sold every single ticket well before this one night two-performance stand on the Regal stage.(never before seen in Cambridge)

A triumph for the 16-year-old drummer, Laurie Jay, who only recently stepped in to take the place of Tony Meehan who has undergone an appendicitis operation.
It all started with the Tommy Allen Group, followed by the Landis Brothers. Then there was recording star Al Saxon, The Southlanders, Peter Elliott.
