Years back

18 May 1957 Saturday Skiffle Contest will be held in the Pier Pavilion, South Shield near the lifeboat.
Hank (Brian Robson) and Bruce Cripps, future Drifter/Shadows as the Crescent City Skiffle Group win the contest with their number “Stack O Lee”. Hank played a banjo solo.
Other groups on the contest: Team Valley Skiffle, Peter Bond Skiffle, Rumjunglers, Brian Vainbridge Skiffle, Santa Cruz Skiffle, Saints Skiffle, Black Cats

Many years have passed. In my research I found this in the book The Story of the Shadows.
Can anyone confirm that this is the Skiffle Group from 1957

I know Philip Hadler. He is well-known for promoting music along the coast of East Kent and he arranges performances by (for instance) Frank Vignola in the area. I think it's unlikely that a Kent skiffle group would play a date in South Shields, but it ought to be possible to ask Phil.
