My understanding is that it's Licorice...

I once had the privilege to sing and play lead on Bo Diddley at Warwick along with Eric Kingdon and Licorice on harmonica (I think Ian Purdon was on bass, but can't remember the drummer  ). I'm fairly certain that Licorice told us that he thought up the harmonica part whilst having a quick visit to the Gents at Abbey Road.

Licorice told this story at last year's German Shadows Convention, too. He said that he was not at all prepared to do the harmonica part as the backing track - with Jet Harris on bass guitar - was already recorded on 26. January und at this session the vocals were supposed to be added (1., 22. or 31. May).
So this is the - to my knowledge - only track featuring five Shadows.

Ulrich is correct, Licorice told me the same story at Tilburg last year.

Yes heard the same stary from Licorice when he spoke at one of the early Warwick Club days - distinctly remember him mentioning the reverb/echo effects created in the gents loo! Must have made life interesting for the sound engineer!
