Eleven years since I last posted on this thread, the studio still works well. I thought I would post a current photo. The positions of amplifiers, the drums, sofas changed, but the studio remains largely the same. There is an Abbey Road sign to the right of the door. That’s Charlie, the studio tech, on the floor.
I'm really late to this thread but I wanted to comment on the Lotus 23. I have one also, except mine is 1/24 scale. Here in the US, it was a popular body style and produced by several slot car companies during the first slot car wave of the 1960s.

Yes, Charlie takes his job seriously, Gary, and is very much paws on. He will be 10 this year. We rescued him as a 1-1/2 month-old puppy from the city pound. I think he knows all the Shadow pieces by heart (but only pre-Burns!).
I am happy you know the model, Bob, because only 130 Lotus 23s were built and they are pure racing cars. I no longer have it, as I retired from racing years ago. It is an important car, especially from the US perspective. It was the sole Lotus 23 in Ecurie Shirlee, the racing team of Bob Challman. He was the US West Coast Lotus distributor in the 1950s and 1960s. It was built in 1963, definitely pre-Burns, the era I seem to focus on!!
