Surrey Shadows August '20

Postby Teflon » 23 Aug 2020, 19:43

I've been going to the Surrey Shadows club at Hersham for a while now, but never had the nerve to take part. During "lockdown" however, I decided that I would take the plunge once activities resumed and so, last Friday, I made my first ever public performance. I was absolutely terrified!! :D Didn't even face the audience  . Loved it though, and will definitely have another go :)

So grateful to everyone involved in organising these nights. If it were not for the Shadows clubs, folk like me would never get to experience playing with a live band. Long may it continue :) .

My wife was on hand to record the occassion on her 'phone:

Sounded much better than my first efforts at the South Coast Shadows when I first dipped my toe in the water.

Well done Cliff, a good performance, pleased to say I was there. “The longest journey begins with the smallest step”

Thanks. I'm hoping the nerves get better with each go!

Cheers Stuart, and I'm happy to say the same right back at you. It was a great night and I think the fist time since I've been attending that no backing tracks have been used, with everyone playing with the live band. Good performances from all players I think.

Thanks Steve, I'd use that quote on my CV if I had one :D
