Keep The Home Fires Burning

Postby JohanDeGreyze » 24 Dec 2020, 15:49

106 years ago, the First World War was just a few months old. In the snowy winter fields of Belgium, thousands of British and German soldiers sat in their trenches thinking of their families back home.
What then took place was a remarkable event, soldiers from both sides walked into 'no mans land' and socialised as well as having a game of football. This hand of friendship was named 'The Christmas Truce'. Back home, Ivor Norvello was writing a song for the families titled 'Keep The Home Fires Burning' A song of hope, that one day soon, loved ones would again reunite. Today, I have a new recording; a more modern version of the original Novello song 'Keep The Home Fires Burning'.
Hope you my version (Thanks Tony for this text).
