Poor old Al, both of his dogs have passed on now.

Thanks Ecca.

Jack and Barney were world famous. Thanks to the wonders of the internet they were known to friends from Perth Western Australia to Warwick New York and over to Ontaria Canada as well as many places in this country.

I accept that not everybody loves dogs the way Lawrece and I do. However for those who did, these two put a smile on many a face when we visited various parts of the country.

I well remember Barney, when looking at Alan Prudhoe's magnificent giants, asking me, "Blimey Dad what does he feed those Spaniels"?

Thanks for thinking of us at this time. We have thousands of happy memories. Which is just as it should be.

Cheers, Alan.

I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your two spaniels Al. As a dog owner for many years now I can imagine how difficult that must be.

They ask for so little and give so much.

Great shame Al, but be consoled by the thought that you gave them both better lives than most dogs get.

Think about giving another one the same special Bakewell treatment - there's plenty to choose from at Sunnyside Dogs Home.

That was a great vid. Reminded me of my many happy years with Jamie my golden retriever. He went all over the country with me and was a great companion.
He was even madder than these two.
Still think about him eight years after his passing. I was actually looking at some old pics of him a couple of nights ago when looking at some old stuff stashed in my attic.

"Think about giving another one the same special Bakewell treatment"

It's funny you should say that Phil.

Alfie is the new addition to the family. I use the term addition and not replacement. You can't replace the irreplaceable.
We didn't know that Jack's remaining time with us was to be so short at the time Alfie joined us. My hope was that some of Jack's
qualities would have time to rub off on the little dog. Sadly this was not to be. However at almost three months he is showing great promise.
His ultimate challenge, of course, is to feature in one of Uncle Ecca's videos. :D

I remember the video well when it was posted some years ago, when I also had two dogs, both Rottweilers, which sadly I no longer have, so I sympathize with Al... But it was so good to see that there is a happy ending to this story, or rather, a happy beginning, with the arrival of a new friend. I hope there will be a new video in the near future featuring Alfie! (the song "Alfie" comes to mind :) )
