I think it's a song by Australian singer-songwriter Doug Ashdown, he had some success with the tune back in the '70's.

He had a 'concept' album out back then also, called 'The Age of Mouse'- might be worth having a look on You Tube to see if anything has been put on there...

I've met Doug a couple of times over the years, as he came from Adelaide originally, he's a great singer, a good writer and a fine guitarist too.

That's a beautiful recording. Love it!
John: You're right and Doug Ashdown wrote it (my husband is a big fan of his) and on his official website Doug says he started as a lead guitarist playing Shadows and Beatles covers.
