GHOST TRAIN - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BERT !!!

Postby Stratpicker » 10 May 2011, 14:19

Happy Birthday Bert.
In the 60’s, I had the happy experience of playing the Manchester Club circuit on the same Bill as Bert, he as Top Of The Bill, respendent with a huge white Guild and our group employed for “t’Dancin’”. Superb Showman and consummate Professional.
Here is my interpretation of Bert’s “Ghost Train” from 1961

Excellent Slapsticker. Are you going to play it live at the Hankies?

By the way, I don't think I've ever mentioned this to you...

When I was a kid in Manchester there used to be a Mrs. Plant that lived on our street. She used to frighted us kids, especially if we were playing outside her house. But then you might expect that since she was Les Dawson's real mother-in-law :o Are you related?

I'd like to have given an opinion on this one Ian but I was scared to listen past the intro !! ;)

Seriously though you've done a great job on this and recreated the sound and feel that Bert had.
It's a terrific instrumental - really enjoyed it.
