On Saturday evening my band, MOONSHADOW, played together for the very last time. We formed in 1996 and despite the band name including the "Shadow" reference we were not a tribute band. We played a whole mix of music including jazz, country, rock, and pop-standards but also a selection of Shads tunes which went down well. As a regular gigging band we pulled the plug back in 2003 as we each had other things to focus on nevertheless we put the band back together once a year most years for a one off gig - the annual Prize Giving Dinner Dance for my sailing club - Chichester Cruiser Racing Club (http://www.ccrc.co.uk). This year we decided to call it a day but I am delighted to say it was caught on camera and here is a first example. This clip has been edited from footage from two cameras. There was also a third camera whose footage I have yet te get but which was set up as a static to capture the whole thing as a back-up and you may spy a small GoPro camera strapped to the head of the bass guitar - I shall be interested to see what that has captured in due course. The lighting was limited to what we could set up as this was done in a hotel restaurant / function room and audio was limited to what could be captureed on the cameras as space was very limited and the prime function of the performance was for the Club members to enjoy themselves. You don't see much of the dance floor as the unusual layout of the circular room means the band plays to the tables and the dancers are to the left of the playing area. Anyway enough of the blather, here is our last ever rendering of Apache. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg1JbZBBOCA
We also went on to play Wonderful Land, Atlantis, Man of Mystery, Foottapper and Walk Don't Run.
My equipment used on the night was a Cornford Roadhouse 30 head through a Cornford 2 x 12 cabinet; Alesis Q2 EOTP; Blackstar VT overdrive pedal; my Custom Shop "'57" Strat, Patrick James Eggle Saluda 12 string, and my Gibson "Pearly Gates" '59 Les Paul.
