Short "Minor Swing" with my new Gitano.

Hi all,

I hope you are doing better than I.
Anyway, thank God, I am doing much much better now, except for numbness in the right hand first 3 fingers (those that hold the pick unfortunately).
I will undergo a cervical epidural for that. The surgeon said that should fix it.

Despite this, I wanted to try to play my new Gitano, but due to the loss of feeling in the right hand, I was loosing the pick so I had to limit it to
a short sound file. (I took away my neck / chest brace so you wont be deterred to watch).

I am a little disappointed with the guitar as I noticed a serious problem with the neck from the 12th fret to the end, the fretboard
height and thickness increases after the 12th fret, so from the 12th to the 16th fret, you get the same note whenever you hit any of the 3 first strings.
That part of the guitar is not really playable, it's like buldging.
I tried to loosen the struss but it didn't help at all.
So I put some plumber's tape on the bridge under the strings to lessen the problem (you can see the tape glowing below my right hand).
I emailed Musician Friends and their answer was: "A full fret level and a good setup should solve your problems." Great !.
I guess you get what you pay for ($400 I think).

Next, I will try my versions of "The Windmills of Your Mind" and of "Maria Elena".

Blessings to all,
Abel

Teriffic playing Abel !! I do hope the feeling comes back to your fingers - Guitars can be easily fixed, but your health
is the most important thing.
I think this Gypsy Jazz style certainly shows what a talented guitarist you are - I enjoyed watching very much.
Cheers Phil

Phil is so right about your health being the most important thing. I too hope that you are soon fully recovered.

The guitar sounds really good for that style of music and your playing is terrific.

Hi, Abel,

It's great to see you back in action. I know that you were not looking forward to your recent treatment (and who would?).

That Gitano sounds great, but then, we would all be disappointed if you ever got less than a superb sound out of anything you play.

Best of luck with the residual bit of surgery. I'll contact you separately about other matters.

Best wishes to you and Christina,

Jiim

Hi Abel, it's so good to know you're still playing dispite this attack on your health. I know that you will conquer this thing, you are such a positive person. Unfortunately I've not been able to see this video on my iPod as its an issue with Apple and I've no access to a pc at the moment, hopefully this will be sorted this month and I will surely look and listen!
All the best and get well soon Abel!

Thank you all,

It always hurt after moving my neck around and the surgeon recommanded that saying it helps the muscles resettle.

Charles,
You really didn't miss much, but I just loaded temporarily the file on Youtube for you to see or download. I will remove it thereafter.
Please let me know when you are done. Thank you.

Blessings to you all,
Abel

Hi Abel, I am in awe!! That was just brilliant!! If this is with your present condition, I would really love to hear you when you've totally healed and recouperated, you sound like the master himself!!
Thanks so much for puting up the video especially for me, you're very good!
I'll check it out again when I get my pc problems sorted.
Take care and get well soon,
Charles
