Hi CC.
Brill! You have brought new life to this tune, and, as someone else has said already, the stereo effect is terrific.

If you can manage to get over here again, you will always be welcome in Congleton!

If it inspires you to do more, so much the better Charles.

I always felt that the earlier Shadows covers of others' music worked because the arrangements were new and suitable to the line-up. Likewise, the later covers didn't do it for me because they were so close to the originals.

So it is with the Shads own music. If we copy, try to sound just like they did, we may be very clever in our wizardry but ultimately we end up as no more than a poor man's Shadows. However, if we do as Barry Gibson's Local Heroes did in the "missing" series and come up with new arrangements, it gives the material new life.

For my money, you are on the right track!

Best wishes - Iain

Hi Charles

This is what tends to happen when people get "fed up" with the original and wanna do something creative...lol!!(like me.. :D )
Nice new "jacket" you gave to this tune I must say..not "jazzed up" as you refer but more "rhythm and blues" I'd like to call it..
At any rate it sounds wonderfull and you've done a great job sound/playwise...congrats!
I still prefer the original but that's just me I guess..

Cheers,
Ernie

Thank you Paul, Iain, Ernie and Steve, I'm really pleased that you like my 'different' arrangement! I personally get a kick out of doing these things, like instrumentalising popular vocals. I guess I've already done around fifty or sixty, Eagles, Elvis, Beatles, Cliff and many different country artists! It pleases me no end that others can enjoy what I do!
Thanks again, Cheers CC

H Charles,

You have outdone the Shads version which seems dull in comparison now.
Terrific performance.
It should be part of your upcoming CD and the Shads would be delighted to grant you the rights.
You make us all proud. Bravo.
