Sleepwalk - New/Old version arrangement

Postby fullerton62strat » 22 Apr 2012, 16:09

This is my first effort at a Video Sound File so I hope you like it.

My friend Phil McGarrick did the video and sound production and I think he made a great job of it. We got together for a jam session and Phil said he'd video me playing Sleepwalk. I love both versions so I mixed the old with the new. It was one of Jet's favourites, so I would like to dedicate it to his memory for all the times we spent together on and off stage.

Thanks,
John

Hello John
Welcome to the Video Soundfile World.
A brilliant sound and faultless playing. As smooth as satin.
Loved the tone of the Strat and I guess Q2 Patch 36 also comes in to play?
cheers

Thanks Ian, I value your comments very much.

Yes, it is the first time I've ventured into this area and it's a bit daunting, as there are so many great sound files already on here. Playing to, or positioning a sound file in front of a few hundred 'Hank Marvins' can make you sweat a bit, but I think on balance people are pretty fare on this site and encourage all contributions.

I think Phil and myself may do some more. Even a duet maybe!

Many thanks for the welcome.

John

PS. Not sure what patch Phil used - I just went for it.

Hi John,
You did a fantastic job on modern sleepwalk - no editing just as you played it.
Yes it was my favourite EFTP patch 0-36 on the Q2.
Well have to do a duet or something in the future.
All the best... Phil

I'd like to add my resounding applause to that John. Very tastefully played. Now all you have to do is do a quick re-take and give us a nice big smile at the end. ;)

Hi Rob and Martin, thank you very much for your super comments. I have been very pleased with the comments on here and on YouTube to my first effort. I now have the confidence to do some more tracks thanks to the respectful people posting on this site.

I'm working on a project with Phil and I'd also would like to do Steve Ray Vaughn's Riviera Paradise sometime.

Next time - service with a SMILE!

Regards,
John
