By request - Squier Classic Vibe Strat demo

By request I am re-posting the Wonderful Land / The Savage recordings on the Squier Classic vibe Strat .

To make it clear, there's no amp or echo box here - it's done on the Macbook Pro with Logic software providing the Vox amp and Meazzi echo.
The Classic Vibe Squier Strat which came fitted with 9/42 strings, with it's original bridge & block cost £175 on Ebay - I love it. ;)
I changed the strings to 10/46 after a couple of days and it works better for me.

Hi Dave

This demo impresses everytime I listen to it,so thanks for posting it again.

When you say Logic provided the Meazzi Echo,is that a specific echo contained
in Logic,or did you need to programme it in?

I was waiting for the supposed release of the upgraded iMac,which never hapened.
Now the rumour mill say's it wil be September, more waiting.

I love the Logic software,it was the first music software I ever used, and
I have missed it ever since it went Apple only.

My problem is,do I keep waiting,or jump in now?

What governs the life of an iMac,is it the Software updates that Apple release?

Alan, the Vox amps are all there in the Logic software and you get a choice between the old 1 x 12 AC15 or the later 2 x 12 Top Boost - depending how you set up the tone controls you can achieve the EF86 sound on either or any of the other Vox amps you want.
The echo is programmed by me in the 'Delay Designer' tab, which offers as many heads as you need up to 26 in all, maybe more.
I can send you the patch for this sound if you have a Mac with Logic, it will automatically set up the guitar channel to allow you to sound the same as I have on this track. The only input from you will be the guitar and your playing. 8-)

Hello Dave

Many thanks for the reply.

I would very much like the Patch for the guitar, however it would make sense
if I waited till I get the Mac,then come back to you for the patch,if that's OK with you?

I am getting an iMac and Logic Pro 9 as soon as I find out if I should wait for the
updated model,or just dive in and buy now.

Alan, as far as waiting for the newer model is concerned, I was in the same predicament before buying my iMac but I wasn't prepared to wait so I bought what was available, with no regrets. The 'improvements' on the new model never came into play for what I use it for and I would have lost three months enjoyment of using it, had I waited.
There will always be a 'next improved' model on the horizon so how long do you sit on the fence? My advice is, none of us are getting any younger - do it !
Last year, when I decided that I needed another laptop, I bought the next generation (the one that I missed out on the first time round) , only as a Macbook and it's no better than my original iMac.

Hi Dave

Thanks for the words of wisdom,I understand what you are saying.

The rumour is that the updated iMac's will be released with the new Mountain Lion software in a
few weeks time,I have decided to give it till then to see if the rumours are correct, then if still no update
I will definately buy the current model.

I must admit that your comment regarding missing out on a few months of pleasure using the Mac is
very true, and something I keep thinking about, but I would kick myself if I bought a Mac now and in a few
weeks time the updated model was released.

I will keep in touch and let you know what happens.

That's OK, but you need to take into account that any updated model doesn't run Logic any differently and there's a history of conflicts with Logic and new operating systems, although they do eventually get resolved, according to the guys who have been training me on the 'one to one' sessions at the Apple Store. It's worth bearing in mind.
