Robson, Jim is right on the money, you need to get rid of the repeating notes, I actually find them irritating. BUT!!! There is a great tune in there, yelling to get out so do keep working on it. It's not going to take a lot, it's almost there. Just a tweak or two.

An alternative to taking out the repeating notes, might be to just change one or two of them, so you're no longer playing the same note several times in succession.

Also, I think it needs some sort of intro rather than just going straight into the first verse.

Another vote for Moonlight In Wigan by the way.

I like the "Moonlight in" bit... but "Wigan" doesn't quite cut it for me! :lol:

If we replaced it with say "Perth" for example, because it's a nice sunny place, and Hank lives there! ;)

Nice melody. I was able to whistle the tune after only hearing it twice (always a good test of a melody), but I found myself only whistling the basic tune and not the repeat notes! As for a name? I like the idea of the early shadows 'playing with words'. what about 'Love is in the hair', or 'Wonderful sand';

I like 'Oop North' as well.

Hi Robson
I'm not very good at thinking up names but just wanted to congratulate you on a great tune and writing your own compositions.
Best wishes

Well guys,

With the competition closing, it looks like the obvious winner is 'Moonlight In Wigan' as suggested by and Iain Purdon and then again by Steve Tebble.

The title is starting to grow on me a little, I wasn't so sure at first. I'm now working on Version 2 of this piece which I'll attach to this post to save creating another, when I'm done.

All the best for 2013,
Robson
