Atlantis was never one of my favourite sounds. The Top Boost lacks the warmth of the earlier Vox third circuit. I always use a general, modern-ish tone and try to bring added warmth into the sound. Also, the tune has, IMO, one of the hardest tones to get, plus the fact that you can't double-track things live! But this is one of the best replications of a Shadows record that I've ever heard - if not the best... ever. The honky low C, the gritty attack of the pick, the correct differing levels of echo for the different takes, everything. Superbly played, too. Just stunning. Congratulations, Paul. If you'd done this ten or twelve years ago the Shadows world would have exploded with enthusiasm... actually, no; with near-hysteria.
