The Ghost Riders feedback required :)

Postby Cordroy » 24 Feb 2015, 20:52

Hi guys,

Any chance of some feed back on some of our live recording during rehearsals. I'm new to the group (only be with them about 6 weeks) but the band have been together a while now. We are on the look out for agents and hoped that our stuff is good enough. Apologies if the sound quality isn't great as its been recorded on a basic recording machine, put through computer software, then entered on soundcloud.. :)

Many thanks in advance.

Good luck, Ian to you and your band.
Sounds good despite the low spec recording gear.
cheers

Musically sounds pretty much OK to me, the one thing I would work on is vocally pay attention to what Cliff sings and how.
The tune drifts a bit for me and listening and taking it on board would help improve there, listen to the original record and don't pick up the bad habits that Cliff does these days by changing the tune. I too have heard some recorded concerts where he 'blags' it but people remember the right tune and phrasing. I'm trying to be constructive here. :)

Thanks for the reply Dave.

Points noted. I will listen deeper to the lyrics. At the moment, its my own interpretation as I'm not trying to be Cliff :)

No I wasn't meaning you should try to be Cliff, but the tune and the phrasing need to be right, there is a difference. :)

I've seen this band perform live several times and I can tell you that their sound and playing is much, much better than these recordings suggest.
