Interpreting Les Paul's version of "Whispering" live

Postby abel » 12 Mar 2017, 23:36

Hi all,

I hope you are in good health and spirit.

I was looking for a Les Paul tune with multi tracks recording, and I found "Whispering" that I never heard before.
I am using my Sheraton II through my Roland JC120 amp.
Some misses (funny that this doesn't happen until I push the button on the camera, then all kind of mishaps happen).
Anyway here it is, raw.
I hope you like it

Blessings,
Abel

That is brilliant, as per usual, Abel.

I've heard a few people attempt to do Les Paul, but not many come as close as that!

Hi all,

Glad you liked it Jim.

Unfortunately, all I could find was a midi file for the backing.

Next with the Sheraton II is ..."How High the Moon".

Last Saturday, I went to watch the "Stardust Ramblers" (Western Swing) at the famous "94th Squadron" place inside the Van Nuys Airport.
The premises were used during WWII and we were sitting at the pilots table.
The upright bass player was Deke Dekerson's girl friend, and he too was there.
I told him how much we miss his Annual "Guitar Geek Festival". He is having one in Las Vegas next month at the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend (see below). Brenda Lee and Jim Cavallo (Rock Rock Rock!) will be performing also. I thought you would like to attend. I certainly would, but I just came back for a 5 days Las Vegas trip less than a month ago.

Blessings to all,

Wow... as you already know, my friend, California and Nevada constitute my favourite part of the USA, not least because of the opportunities to see all these great bands, many of them heavy on the instrumentals.

I would love to be at either of those events, but for various reasons, for the moment I'll confine myself to the Tilburg Cliff/Shads Fan Meeting on 31st March and 1st April.

But... I'll be back!
