Sukiyaki

Here is another old track I recorded on my Portastudio
many years ago.

It got to number one in the States in 1963.

Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto.

Cheers...George.

first time I have heard it played as a guitar instrumental ,Kenny Ball had the hit first then followed on by Kyo Sacamoto, I beleive Sukiyaki is not the real title of the song.

The Eagles did it too.

(I mean the proper ones, from Bristol.)

Hi all,

I thought only the Ventures did this song.
I enjoyed both your versions George, especially your own as it is less merry than the Eagles' and reproduces better the
dramatic mood of the original in your low guitar register.

I didn't know Dave Edmunds and I listened to his version and thought it very well suited to the Chet Atkins style.

Here is my version recorded a few years ago where I tried to stay close to the spirit and feel of the original, using the original background recording.

Blessings,
Abel
